![]() DISCLAIMER This is written mostly from a minmaxing, munchkin-ass, squeeze-every-Karma-til-it-bleeds style of play. When purchasing a Positive or Negative quality, note the quality on the character sheet along with any bonuses or negative modifiers to skills in parentheses next to the appropriate skills or attributes. This is a guide intended to help players navigate the Shadowrun 5e character creation process and come out on the end with a PC that adequately reflects everything they want from a shadowrunner. 103) for more about purchasing Positive Qualities or buying off Negative ones. Negative Qualities can be bought off using Karma during game play. After character creation, Positive Qualities can be purchased during game play, while Negative Qualities may be awarded to the character by the gamemaster based on events that take place in game. Additionally, at creation characters can only possess at most 25 Karma worth of Positive Qualities and 25 Karma worth of Negative Qualities. Players can spend all of it, some of it, or none of it based on what they want their character to have and how much Karma they want to save for later. There are two types of Qualities-Positive Qualities, which provide gameplay bonuses and require an expenditure of Karma and Negative Qualities, which impose gameplay penalties but also give bonus Karma the player can spend in other areas.Īs mentioned earlier, the character starts the character creation process with 25 Karma, and some of that can be spent to buy Qualities. Qualities help round out your character’s personality while also providing a range of benefits or penalties. This next step in the character creation process is finalizing the list of qualities the character will have at the beginning of a Shadowrun campaign. But the choice is yours, of course.įirst aid, Heavy Weapons, Computer, Pilot Walker+Watercraft, Throwing weapons, Running+Swimming (just get a point in Athletics group, it's only 5 karma).Ī personal weapon skill, some Con would be very beneficial.Gear // Magic // Hacking // Skills // Qualities // Packs // Creatures You generally would only want to jump in your vehicles for a clean getaway or in your mini-drones for some recon work. ![]() Jumping in drones for combat is a dangerous tactics because they are so vulnerable and fragile. If you like an idea of an autonomous drone swarm then they are bad. If you plan to jump in your drones then they are good. EWar, Perception, Pilot Ground Craft are solid picks for a rigger, but Gunnery and Pilot Aircraft are situational. IMO Stealth 5 would be the best way to use your points. If you want it for a flavour then just get some Knowledge skills instead. So an R3 suite can have capacity 3 sensors, so you could have smartlink, vision mag and low light on your main cameraĮngineering group looks good on paper but it does literally nothing in the game. Each suite can take 8 functions decided by you at purchase (camera, mic, atmosphere sensor etc), the rating of the suite determines the capacity of the individual sensors for upgrades like low light and audio enhancement. The rating of the suite (sensor stat on the vehicle profile). Thinking back, the Shadowrun character creation system is probably a very large part against my bias against class-based and leveled. Make sure you optimise your sensor suites on vehicles and drones. On the other hand, the Rigger is the character most insulated from other types of interactions, so your need to put lots of points into other skills for contingencies is somewhat reduced. I'd also grab some antenna cyberware from data trail's as they give extra noise reduction. ![]() Easily the best combat drone as it comes with mmg and R3 targeting software. In terms of combat drones, ditch the lynx and rotodrones and take fb-bumblebee from nothing personal. I'd also advocate Grabbing morphing plates and spoof chips for your main vehicles and a Smuggling compartment too. Helps keeps your drones hidden from prying deckers. Modding it to have a sleaze Attribute is wise, as you can then boost that with programs like stealth and sneak plus smoke and mirrors. RCCs can run cyberprograms, so you'll want a few useful programs like toolbox, signal scrub, encryption and virtual machine. Yeah it's not the most optimised of builds. I have tried to make a rigger, and I would like some feed back on itĭo I have most of it covered? is anything missing or downright silly?ĪPDS/Explosive/Regular/Gel/Sticknshock Ammo
